Job summary

Corbion is seeking a Technologist V to lead bakery and non-bakery application projects at our Totowa, NJ site. You will apply your formulation experience to develop and improve products, troubleshoot challenges, and drive efficiencies that deliver practical, customer-focused solutions.

This on-site role requires a Bachelor's in Bakery Science or related field, 2+ years in the food industry, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams across R&D, Sales, Procurement, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Bakery Science, Food Science, Cereal Chemistry, or related fields.
• 2+ years technical experience in the food industry preferred.
• Basic formulation and industrial processing knowledge relating to bakery products.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
• Able to work independently to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences concerning technical and business needs.
• Must have problem solving skills.
• Capable of self-management and multiple project/task management.
• Self-starting attitude.
• Possess a general understanding of bake lab analytical equipment.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 55 pounds.
• Occasional overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Support innovation projects including but not limited to new product development, and procurement & operation support projects.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Sales, Procurement, Operations, and Business Development to achieve project objectives.
• Lead and/or support new sample preparation for R&D, customers and Sales in a timely manner.
• Report/discuss project status, technical updates and other critical information with peers and R&D management.
• Support prototype development, plant trials, and commercialization activities for new and improved products.
• Establish, document and maintain specifications for new products based on lab development and plant trials.
• Cultivate a team atmosphere with peer groups and upper management.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe and work-ready lab environment.
• Be flexible in taking additional tasks as needed to support company's business goals.
