Job summary

Ulm Automotive LLC in Bogart, GA seeks an experienced R&D Engineer to drive prototype development from concept to validated designs. You will prototype on bench and in vehicles, evaluate materials, and coordinate with suppliers to meet cost and manufacturability targets.

The role requires hands-on testing, data-driven decisions, and collaboration with the Engineering team to ensure production-ready specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 4+ years of product development with hands-on prototype build and test.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and engineering documentation.
• Ability to design a test, run it, analyze the data, and write it up for non-engineers.
• Working knowledge of materials, fasteners, adhesives, and 12V electrical systems.
• Comfortable with shop tools and building what you design.

Responsibilities

• Take product concepts from leadership and partners and turn them into engineered proposals with cost, weight, and manufacturability estimates.
• Build and iterate prototypes on bench and in vehicles; source prototype parts and works with suppliers.
• Define test plans and acceptance criteria for new designs across structural, thermal, acoustic, and electrical domains.
• Hand off released designs to CAD with full specs, tolerances, and material callouts; support BOM creation.
