Argyle Country Club, located in Silver Spring, MD, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join its Greens & Grounds team. This role offers hands-on experience across golf course maintenance and improvement under an established management team.

The ideal candidate will lead small crews, perform daily maintenance, and own daily responsibilities, with opportunities to contribute to ongoing capital projects and course enhancements.

Qualifikationen

• Certificate or formal education in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field preferred.
• Relevant golf course maintenance experience is preferred, but no minimum number of years is required.
• Maryland Pesticide & Fertilizer Applicator Licenses preferred, or ability to obtain required licensing.

Aufgaben

• Assist with daily golf course maintenance and preparation of the course for play.
• Participate in pesticide and fertilizer applications, water management, and irrigation repair.
• Operate and maintain golf course equipment and assist with equipment-related tasks as needed.
• Lead and motivate hourly employees and small crews to complete daily assignments efficiently.
• Assist with clubhouse grounds maintenance and property-wide landscape responsibilities.
• Support budgeting, purchasing, inventory, and project management responsibilities.
• Assist with ongoing golf course improvements and future capital and maintenance projects.
• Help maintain playing conditions across Poa/bentgrass greens, bermudagrass tees and fairways, and cool-season rough.
• Work collaboratively with the Director and management team while exercising sound judgment and initiative.
