Job summary

Brilliant® in Schaumburg, IL is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our accounting team. This hands-on role focuses on owning key accounting functions, improving processes, and contributing to a growing manufacturing organization.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure GAAP compliance, accurate financial reporting, and strengthening internal controls. This position offers growth potential within a family-owned manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
• CPA preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations, including general ledger management and financial reporting.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Support inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing-related financial analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes.
• Support audits and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
