Borg Design Inc. is seeking an Assembly Department Lead to supervise and participate in mechanical assembly, ensure quality, train staff, and coordinate priorities with Engineering and Production Management.

The role demands hands-on leadership, ownership of the department, and the ability to keep customer orders moving. You will read blueprints, manage tools, and drive improvements while maintaining a safe, organized workplace.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership of an Assembly Department in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to supervise, train, and mentor shop floor personnel.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, routings, and work instructions.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with assembly hardware like Helicoils and Keenserts.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Assembly Department and direct assembly personnel.
• Coordinate priorities, schedules, and orders to maintain flow and on-time delivery.
• Train, coach, and develop employees while performing hands-on assembly as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and BOMs to ensure correct assembly.
• Troubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Engineering on prototypes, tooling, and process improvements.
• Maintain department organization, safety, and housekeeping to high standards.
