Job summary

MacLean Power Systems in Bessemer, Alabama, is seeking an Assembly Group Lead for the Day Shift to supervise 4–5 hourly workers, coordinate with the Master Scheduler, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor. You will ensure material readiness, lead internal job order processing in the ERP system, and enforce safety, quality, and process standardization.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2-4 years of experience in assembly-type production.
• Valid Alabama Driver License with satisfactory driving record.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Hands-on leadership style; lead-by-example approach.
• General computer skills and experience operating within an ERP system using a work order process.
• Ability to read assembly drawings.
• Clear and accurate records and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Master Scheduler and warehouse to execute the daily production plan each month.
• Supervise 4-5 hourly assembly line workers.
• Ensure hourly assembly manpower is available to support requirements.
• Monitor and report daily status of production orders on the shop floor.
• Lead or perform accurate and timely internal job order processing in the ERP system.
• Verify material availability for production orders with the warehouse team.
• Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support annual physical inventory activities.
• Learn processes and products; become a student of the business.
