Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL seeks an Operations Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of production and ground systems. You will analyze downtime, lead root cause investigations, and implement durable fixes across tooling and processes.

You will work closely with design, manufacturing, GSE, and quality teams to stabilize operations and reduce variability. You will spend substantial time on the factory floor, on the launch pad, and in the field, driving improvements and validating

Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in manufacturing, test, integration, launch/ground operations, or reliability/maintenance engineering.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, fluids, electrical, or controls systems.
• Expert in structured problem-solving and root cause methods with data analysis.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, fluid schematics, or electrical diagrams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational reliability of assigned processes, tooling, and ground systems within the focus area.
• Analyze downtime, delays, scrubs, and nonconformances to identify high-risk processes.
• Lead or support root cause investigations from containment to systemic fixes and verification.
• Develop and standardize procedures, checkouts, and maintenance plans to reduce variability.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing/integration engineering, and quality to implement improvements.
• Support commissioning and stabilization of new tools and systems.
• Build simple tracking tools to monitor reliability performance.
