Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Operations Reliability Engineer to improve repeatability and reliability across production, refurbishment, integration, and launch operations. You will lead investigations into downtime and reliability issues, implementing durable fixes in design, process, and tooling, while working hands-on with hardware and data.

You will partner with design, manufacturing, GSE, and quality to implement process improvements and support new tool commissioning.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, fluids, electrical, or controls systems.
• Experience driving changes to fix issues and improve reliability.
• Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational reliability of assigned processes, tooling, and ground systems within focus area.
• Analyze downtime, delays, scrubs/rollbacks, rework, and nonconformances to identify high-risk processes and recurring issues.
• Lead or support root cause investigations from containment to systemic fixes and verification.
• Develop and standardize procedures, checkouts, and maintenance plans to stabilize execution.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and operations to implement improvements.
• Support commissioning and stabilization of new tools and systems.
• Build lightweight tracking tools to monitor reliability performance and priorities.
• Spend significant time on the floor observing operations and closing the loop on changes.
