Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for an onsite Winter/Spring 2027 session in Somerville, MA. The role emphasizes hands-on design, rapid prototyping, and collaboration across engineering disciplines to advance 3D printer development.

You will build prototypes, use CAD to design parts, and learn documentation control while working with in-house facilities. Portfolio and resume are required for consideration.

Qualifications

• A portfolio of your previous engineering work/projects is required.
• Have one-or-more hands-on experiences such as lab research, project team membership, prior internship or previous work experience.
• Prepare an up-to-date resume and portfolio highlighting your learning and application of skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, assemble, test, and evaluate the performance of 3D printers.
• Participate in design reviews and help solve design, engineering, and manufacturing problems.
• Polish time management and communication skills to improve effectiveness as an engineer.
