Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a skilled Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to join our rehabilitation team in Charlottesville. You will evaluate and treat patients with hand, wrist, elbow, and upper-extremity conditions, develop personalized plans, and fabricate orthoses as clinically indicated.

Minimum 6 months in upper-extremity rehab with OT or PT licensure in Virginia is required; CHT preferred. You will collaborate with hand surgeons, document outcomes, educate patients, and participate in ongoing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Occupational Therapy required
• Licensed to practice OT in Virginia; BLS certification required
• CHT certification preferred but not required
• Minimum 6 months of upper-extremity rehab experience

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat upper-extremity conditions, including post-surgical rehab
• Develop individualized treatment plans to restore function and reduce pain
• Fabricate and fit custom splints as needed
• Collaborate with hand surgeons and interdisciplinary teams
• Document evaluations, progress, and outcomes per standards
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs and prevention
• Engage in continuing education and quality-improvement initiatives
• Contribute to departmental improvement efforts
