Job summary

TTUHSC El Paso's Department of Surgery seeks an academic hand surgeon to join our clinical and teaching mission. The role includes supervising residents, advancing a hand division strategy, and providing patient care in a Level 1 trauma center setting.

You will participate in research and governance, contribute to public service, and pursue ongoing board certification pathways through ABOS or ABS Academic Pathway as appropriate. Appointment is at the faculty level.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• ACGME-accredited Orthopaedic/General/Plastic Surgery Residency completed.
• Hand Surgery Fellowship (ACGME) completed.
• Texas medical licensure or eligibility.
• Eligibility for secondary faculty appointment in Department of Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and teaches residents and medical students in classroom and clinical settings.
• Develops long-term hand division strategic plan with colleagues.
• Provides patient care in hand and microvascular surgery in inpatient/outpatient settings at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Engages in research and scholarly activity; contributes to governance and committees.
