Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Hand Hygiene Observer at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA. This per diem, day shift role involves direct observation of hand hygiene across inpatient units and entry of data into the hand hygiene software, supporting IPC leadership and ongoing quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (GED acceptable) and 0–3 years of experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office and REDCap is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; college coursework preferred.
• 0–3 years of work experience preferred.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office and web-based applications such as REDCap.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand hygiene direct observation across inpatient care units.
• Enter hand hygiene observation data into the software.
• Communicate urgent issues or repeated breaches to IPC leadership promptly.
• Assist IPC team with quality improvement activities related to hand hygiene.
• Other duties related to hand hygiene as assigned by IPC leadership.
