Beauty salon and barbershop hairstylist

Must possess a current, valid Cosmetology license

from the state where the license was issued or from the Virginia Board for Cosmetology of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Primary Job Duties

1. Interact with residents regarding scheduling of cosmetology appointments, ensuring alignment with residents' schedules.
2. Provide cosmetology services such as shampoo, set, roller patterns, comb out, cut, perm, color, and basic manicure, in accordance with Virginia state regulations and The Glebe policies.
3. Maintain positive resident relations, respecting Resident’s Rights, and respond to inquiries, concerns, or problems from residents and their families.
4. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
5. Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
6. Foster positive employee relations within the facility.
7. Implement cost control techniques and methods.
8. Assist with inventory control of supplies and equipment, and participate in preventive maintenance, documenting appropriately.
9. Set and post service prices consistent with established rates by The Glebe.
10. Post licensure information of each licensed employee visibly in the workplace.
11. Conduct daily audits at closing, handle monies received, and coordinate with the Accounts Receivable Clerk for billing and documentation.
12. Implement infection control policies, ensure compliance with universal precautions, and report any concerns.
13. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the Beauty Shop areas.
