Job summary

Ruby Beauty Supply is seeking a Hair Stylist to help clients look and feel their best through personalized consultations and salon services. You will perform styling, coloring, washing, conditioning, extensions, wigs, and makeup applications as needed, aligning to client preferences.

As a Hair Stylist, you'll help clients look and feel their best through thoughtful consultations and skilled salon services. You'll bring together hair care knowledge, creativity, and clear client communication to recommend styles that fit each client's preferences and needs. This role may also support related beauty services and salon operations.

Duties

• Consult with clients, explain service options, and provide hair styling, coloring, washing/conditioning, installing extensions and wigs.
• Apply color theory and hair care practices; provide hair extensions, cutting and trimming services, makeup application, eyelash extensions, or installations.
• Maintain clean tools and work areas by following sanitation procedures.
• Recommend suitable products and services through helpful retail sales and upselling.
• Use salon software, including MINDBODY where applicable, and assist with store management, retail math, and mentoring colleagues as needed.
• By listening carefully and delivering personalized services, you help clients feel confident and supported in their beauty choices.

Skills

• Essential: Strong customer service, communication skills, client communication, hair styling, hair care, and sanitation practices.
• Knowledge of cosmetology, hair coloring, color theory, extensions; experience working in the beauty industry is valuable.
• Familiarity with salon software and MINDBODY is preferred.
• Additional skills such as cutting and trimming, hair extension installation, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and wig installation are useful where relevant to the salon's services.
