Hadoop Developer // Charlotte, North Carolina

We are seeking a Hadoop Developer with 6-8 years of experience working with ‘Big Data’ technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, HBase, Impala, Pig, Kafka, and NiFi.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on development experience using functional programming constructs in languages like Python and Scala, and familiarity with the “pythonic” ecosystem (Pandas, Jupyter Notepad, etc.).

Extensive experience in designing and implementing complex solutions for distributed systems is required, along with working knowledge of Cloudera or Hortonworks technology stacks.

Expertise in performance profiling, identifying performance improvements, and memory optimizations is essential. Strong coding, debugging, and analytical skills are also necessary.

Candidates should possess strong problem-solving and communication skills, enjoy collaboration, and be flexible, self-starters, fast learners who can quickly adapt to new technologies. A desire to understand the "why" behind tasks is important.

Experience with CI/CD automation tools such as Jenkins or Ansible is preferred. Familiarity with the Capital Markets and Regulatory Reporting business domain is a plus.
