Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Hattiesburg, MS, is seeking a shift worker to support HACCP compliance and CCP monitoring. The role requires adherence to PPE and safety policies in a fast-paced plant environment.

Responsibilities include communicating deviations to Production & QA, assisting with day-to-day production issues, and performing duties assigned by supervision. Evening/night hours and occasional Saturdays may be required.

Shift: SHIFT TIMES MAY VARY

Monday through Friday - Shift Time: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Pay Ranges

• Entry through 4 years of Employment = $19.10
• 5 years through 9 years of Employment = $19.35
• 10 years through 14 years of Employment = $19.60
• 15 years through 19 years of Employment = $19.85
• 20 plus years of Employment = $20.10

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for ensuring we follow our company's HACCP plan. Responsible for monitoring HACCP CCP’s at the specified frequency as stated in the plant’s HACCP plan or as necessary depending on conditions. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Communicate with Production & QA Team Members regarding any deviations from the Critical limits for the CCP being monitored.
• Assist Production with day to day problems and reach workable solutions.
• Perform other duties assigned by their supervisor.REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Hatchery or relative poultry industry experience.
• Basic math functions and skills.
• Verbal & Written English skills required.
• Knowledge of food products, food processing and GMPs are helpful.
• Some knowledge of computers or willing to learn about computers.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to safety requirements
• Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• PPE required but subject to change: Hairnet, smock, earplugs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Constant bending and stooping, or walking and standing, for 8 to 10 hrs.
• Lift up to 30 pounds.
• Work in moist and cold environment - approximately 40 degrees.
