Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms seeks a shift role responsible for HACCP compliance and CCP monitoring. You will follow the HACCP plan, ensure PPE usage, and maintain adherence to NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and applicable laws.

The position requires a strong work ethic and ability to work in a cold, moist environment. Primary duties include communicating with Production & QA about deviations, assisting with day-to-day problems, and performing other supervisor-assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HACCP and CCPs is required.
• Verbal and written English skills required.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
• Must be able to work unsupervised and be self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCPs as per HACCP plan and report deviations.
• Assist Production with day-to-day issues and implement solutions.
• Follow PPE and safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Pay Ranges:

• Entry through 4 years of Employment = $20.60
• 5 years through 9 years of Employment = $20.85
• 10 years through 14 years of Employment = $21.10
• 15 years through 19 years of Employment = $21.35
• 20 plus years of Employment = $21.60

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for ensuring we follow our company's HACCP plan. Responsible for monitoring HACCP CCP's at the specified frequency as stated in the plant's HACCP plan or as necessary depending on conditions. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Communicate with Production & QA Team Members regarding any deviations from the Critical limits for the CCP being monitored.
• Assist Production with day to day problems and reach workable solutions.
• Perform other duties assigned by their supervisor.REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Hatchery or relative poultry industry experience.
• Basic math functions and skills.
• Verbal & Written English skills required.
• Knowledge of food products, food processing and GMPs are helpful.
• Some knowledge of computers or willing to learn about computers.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to safety requirements
• Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• PPE required but subject to change: Hairnet, smock, earplugs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Constant bending and stooping, or walking and standing, for 8 to 10 hrs.
• Lift up to 30 pounds.
• Work in moist and cold environment - approximately 40 degrees.
