Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a HACCP compliance-focused worker to monitor CCPs per the plant HACCP plan and ensure PPE usage and policy adherence. The role emphasizes communicating deviations to QA and Production and following NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, poultry industry exposure, basic math, and strong English communication; willingness to learn computers and GMPs; ability to work night shifts and extended hours in a cold,

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Hatchery or poultry industry experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Verbal & written English proficiency required.
  • Knowledge of GMPs and food processing is helpful.
  • Some computer knowledge or willingness to learn about computers.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with Production & QA Team Members regarding deviations from CCPs.
  • Assist Production with day-to-day problems and reach workable solutions.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Primarily responsible for ensuring we follow our company's HACCP plan. Responsible for monitoring HACCP CCP’s at the specified frequency as stated in the plant’s HACCP plan or as necessary depending on conditions. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
  • Communicate with Production & QA Team Members regarding any deviations from the Critical limits for the CCP being monitored.
  • Assist Production with day to day problems and reach workable solutions.
  • Perform other duties assigned by their supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Hatchery or relative poultry industry experience.
  • Basic math functions and skills.
  • Verbal & Written English skills required.
  • Knowledge of food products, food processing and GMPs are helpful.
  • Some knowledge of computers or willing to learn about computers.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to safety requirements.
  • Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) PPE required but subject to change: Hairnet, smock, earplugs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Constant bending and stooping, or walking and standing, for 8 to 10 hrs.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Work in moist and cold environment - approximately 40 degrees.
