Job summary

Idaho Department of Fish and Game is seeking a Natural Resource Program Coordinator - Habitat & Migration to lead habitat and migration initiatives across regional offices in Idaho. The role centers on coordinating the Mule Deer Initiative, big game movement, and watershed programs while supporting cooperative habitat projects with public and private lands.

The successful candidate will supervise staff, manage statewide budgets, and help develop department policies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications require wildlife management expertise with 9+ years, OR a bachelor’s with 5 years, OR a master’s with 3 years.
  • Experience supervising others and leading staff.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating statewide management programs.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders to meet program objectives.
  • Experience preparing and monitoring a budget.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Mule Deer Initiative within the department.
  • Coordinate big game migration and movement efforts.
  • Coordinate Watershed Initiative program.
  • Facilitate cooperative habitat projects on federal, state, and private land.
  • Represent IDFG in multi-agency committees and meetings with agencies and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical assistance on resource management programs and policies.
