What your day looks likeYou arrive, open the work order, and study the drawing. With your GD&T fluency, you decide whether to hand-program or fire up Siemens NX CAM. When CAM is the call, you generate clean, efficient G-code before a single chip flies. You stage the job on a HAAS VF-2 (with HRT210), verify fixtures, make sure the machine is free of debris, check coolant and spindle oil, and pull sharp tools and calibrated gauges. With minimal oversight, you handle most setups in your area.As you run, you measure parts, apply accurate offsets, deburr, and visually/dimensionally verify quality. You collaborate with inspectors on the first article, follow router steps, and sign off on completion. You document learnings and markup setup sheets and programs so the next pass is repeatable. When the run wraps, you break down tooling, return inspection equipment, and store parts in protective packaging per router and company best practices. Time card in, in-process checks staged—next job, same rigor.Core responsibilitiesTranslate drawings and work orders into a manufacturing plan; manual programming or NX CAM as appropriate, then generate G-code prior to machining.Set up HAAS VF-2 with HRT210, fixtures, and tools; verify machine cleanliness and readiness.Confirm gauges are in calibration; turn in any overdue instruments to Quality.Monitor preventive-maintenance risks (coolant, spindle oil) before and during runs.Troubleshoot speeds/feeds, fixturing, part damage, and tool wear; resolve basic programming issues.Measure in-process and adjust offsets to maintain spec; deburr and verify visual/dimensional requirements.Partner with senior machinists for complex setups and on-the-job training opportunities.Collaborate with inspectors to complete first-article verification before continuing production.Complete router sign-offs, maintain job documentation, and ensure repeatability/reproducibility.Break down and properly store tools, parts, and inspection equipment to protect integrity and future accuracy.Set up in-process inspection tools to validate quality post-production; complete time cards per company procedure.Cross-functional impactSurface safety, quality, delivery, and cost issues daily; communicate promptly to management.Work with Engineering to refine work instructions and drawings; help incorporate recommendations.Coordinate with Purchasing to acquire non-stock tools/materials from approved suppliers.Safety and quality mindsetLocate and follow QMS procedures; stay current with procedural updates.Participate on root-cause teams to permanently correct safety and quality problems.Use required PPE and comply with all safety procedures.Continuous improvementIdentify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost; elevate to management.Serve on continuous-improvement initiatives within the department.Perform assigned preventive-maintenance tasks to protect equipment integrity.QualificationsTo be successful, you bring the knowledge, training, experience, and abilities listed below.Education: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: Minimum twelve years of machine tool setup and operation in an ISO/AS/MIL STD prototype/job shop environment, working from complex documentation and verbal/written instructions.Desired:Two-year machining degree/certification or equivalent vocational training.Experience with Fusion software is a plus.Technical focus:Proficient on HAAS VF-2 with HRT210 rotary.Read/interpret drawings using GD&T; generate toolpaths manually or in Siemens NX CAM.Working style and skillsAbility and willingness to abide by set policies and/or safety programs established by BNI, our clients, and/or regulatory agencies which govern our performance and behavior in the normal course of our work while on BNI or the client’s property or job site.Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational and time-management skills; high attention to detail.Plan and deliver objectives within established timelines and schedules.Analyze problems and develop effective solutions at both strategic and functional levels.Demonstrate behavior consistent with company values.Work independently with minimal direction as a self-starter, and thrive in a team-oriented culture.ProficienciesGD&TCNC ToolingCNC ProgrammingG-CodeM-CodeComplianceITAR Requirements: To conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), applicants for employment at P3 Technologies must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e., current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1157-1158.
