About the Role

As a Store Manager, you’ll be responsible for the total holistic omni customer experience in your store, ensuring high visual and commercial standards according to the store format, location, and global & regional strategies. You will lead the full store team to excel, creating an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit. You will analyze sales data, follow up on results, and create plans to optimize store performance and profitability.

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day includes the following responsibilities:

Customer Sales & Profit
  • Manage the total OMNI customer experience, ensuring visual and commercial standards are met according to guidelines.
  • Represent the H&M brand positively during all customer interactions.
  • Establish, analyze, and follow up on sales and budget goals; develop plans to improve results.
  • Provide personal customer service, guide customers through fashion stories, and actively promote products.
  • Promote the Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and sustainability initiatives.
  • Plan staffing according to sales budgets and activities.
  • Ensure routines for fitting rooms and checkout are followed, including transactions, returns, and exchanges.
  • Identify and act on commercial opportunities, maintain competitor awareness.
  • Manage store maintenance cost-effectively.
  • Handle administrative routines for people and operations correctly.
Fashion & Trend Awareness
  • Stay updated on fashion trends, styles, brands, competitors, and influencers.
  • Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions.
  • Understand the local area, customer base, competition, and fashion trends.
Team & Development
  • Manage talent and performance, including recruiting, onboarding, and development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.
  • Share knowledge and skills with your team.
  • Collaborate with the Area team and store leadership, including VMs.
  • Maintain excellent communication and professionalism.
  • Plan and schedule team activities.
  • Communicate regularly with staff to motivate and inform.
  • Ensure procedures, routines, security, and legal requirements are followed.
  • Participate in onboarding, training, and development programs.
Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution
  • Maintain a clean and tidy sales floor and back of house.
  • Ensure high-quality visual and product presentation, with proper garment care.
  • Maintain stock levels and provide input on allocation.
  • Support daily opening and closing routines.
  • Manage the full garment cycle and fitting room routines according to standards.
  • Follow best practices for in-store OMNI services and tech tools.
  • Maintain accurate price signage following global and local guidelines.
  • Keep BOH areas organized and up-to-date.
Qualifications

Additional Information

Expected annual salary range: $68,343 - $79,620.
