Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Human Resources Manager to lead and manage all aspects of our HR operations. Responsibilities include overseeing recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, compliance with employment regulations, and administering company benefits including 401(k) plans. The ideal candidate will have strong HR principles knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and experience managing full-cycle HR functions in a fast-paced environment. Certification such as aPHR, PHR, or SPHR is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage HR policies and procedures in compliance with labor laws.
- Oversee recruitment and hiring processes, including job postings, sourcing, interviews, and offers.
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding programs.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including 401(k), health insurance, and leave programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and resolution.
- Maintain HRIS records and personnel files, ensuring confidentiality.
- Conduct internal audits and ensure HR documentation is up to date.
- Support performance management, training, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Advise management on policies, legal compliance, and HR best practices.
- Coordinate with payroll regarding benefits deductions and employment changes.
- Stay current on labor legislation, HR trends, and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field, or 2-year degree with 8 years of experience.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in management.
- Current aPHR, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws (FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, etc.).
- Experience managing 401(k) plans and recruitment strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in environmental services, construction, or engineering industries.
- Knowledge of government contracting compliance.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
