Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant (MA) or Student Nurse to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, and help create a positive healthcare experience daily.

The role includes welcoming patients, recording histories and vital signs, assisting with exams and testing, administering medications, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved MA program and MA Externship, or MA Internship, or EMT program, or Paramedic program, or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan, or Paramedic following successful completion of the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holds a current/active license in the State of Michigan. Valid CPR certification.
• MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or CMAC.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
