Job summary

Keene Family YMCA in Keene, NH is seeking a part-time Gymnastics Assistant Team Coach to provide high-quality coaching for all gymnastics levels in a safe, educational environment. You will also communicate effectively with team parents and coaches to support the Y’s mission.

The role emphasizes building confidence, supervising participants, and collaborating with the Head Coach to implement lesson plans while upholding YMCA values.

Qualifications

• Fundamental knowledge of gymnastics skills and the ability to demonstrate them.
• Must know proper use of gymnastics equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to lift equipment and spot children.
• Provide hands-on spotting and precise feedback to gymnasts.
• Adapt drills to meet varying skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with members, participants, volunteers and guests.
• Lead safe, energizing group lessons under supervision.
• Answer questions and support members in wellness goals.
• Supervise and instruct gymnastic participants per YMCA policies.
• Develop lesson plans and communicate program information.
• Attend staff meetings and events.
• Set up and maintain class equipment and housekeeping in gym area.
• Uphold YMCA policies and code of conduct.
• Fulfill other functions as needed by YMCA Administration.
