Job summary

Rockford Area Schools in Rockford, MI, seeks a Gymnastics Coordinator/Coach to lead the Rockford Rocket Gymnastics Club, overseeing both recreational and competitive programs with hands-on coaching.

The coordinator will plan schedules, support coaches, communicate with families, and ensure a safe, positive environment for participants, while promoting growth in the community. Flexible daytime/evening/weekend hours required.

Qualifications

• Must have gymnastics coaching experience.
• Experience with recreational and/or competitive programs preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the Rockford Rocket Gymnastics Club, including recreational and competitive programming.
• Develop and organize gymnastics classes, practices, team training, and other program offerings.
• Coach and provide instruction to gymnasts at various ages and skill levels.
• Assist with recruiting, training, and supporting gymnastics coaches and instructors.
• Develop appropriate skill progressions and training plans for recreational and competitive athletes.
• Communicate effectively with athletes and families regarding schedules, expectations, progress, and program information.
• Help coordinate competitive team activities, including meets, registration, and communication with families and coaches.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive gymnastics environment.
• Help manage equipment, facility needs, and day‑to‑day operations of the gymnastics program.
• Work with Community Education staff on registration, scheduling, program development, and overall program needs.
• Promote and help grow the gymnastics program within the community.
• Perform other duties related to the operation and success of the gymnastics program.
