Job summary

Greater Somerset County YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join our team as part-time Gymnastics Instructor. You will plan and lead engaging gymnastics classes for youth of varying ages and abilities.

As an instructor, you will foster safety, coordinate with parents and staff, and promote health, wellness, and teamwork while delivering high-quality, fun programs in a supportive YMCA environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience coaching or teaching gymnastics, American Ninja Warrior, parkour, or related disciplines is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of gymnastics, American Ninja Warrior, or parkour techniques, terminology, and safety guidelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with participants of all ages and backgrounds.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications (preferred) with willingness to obtain coaching certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute high-quality gymnastics classes for youth participants of various ages and skill levels.
• Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and feedback to help participants improve their technique and achieve their goals.
• Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing proper spotting techniques, equipment usage, and facility rules.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where participants feel supported, motivated, and encouraged to challenge themselves.
• Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and colleagues to provide updates, feedback, and support as needed.
• Assist with program promotion, recruitment, and retention efforts to drive participation and engagement.

Schedule

Part-time positions are available with flexible scheduling options. Evening and weekend availability may be required based on program needs.
