Job summary

The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA is hiring a Gymnastics Instructor II & III to deliver intermediate to advanced instruction in a safe, engaging environment. You will guide skill progression, proper form, and assessments while preparing athletes for showcases and pre-team experiences.

Ideal candidates bring 1+ year of coaching, knowledge of USA Gymnastics progressions, and strong communication with families. CPR/First Aid may be required; background checks apply.

Qualifications

• One or more years of recreational or pre-team coaching experience required.
• Knowledge of USA Gymnastics progressions and safety standards.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills; able to motivate diverse age/skill levels.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within Association timeframe.
• Must meet background check and training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead classes across floor, bars, beam, and vault; provide spotting.
• Mentor entry-level instructors and coordinate with families.
• Assess readiness and advance participants; prepare for skills checks and meets.
• Set up equipment and maintain safe training spaces.
• Complete attendance and incident documentation; follow policies.
