Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Teach students of varying levels within the same class.
• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants during enrichment programs.
• Be in assigned area with all equipment, when needed.
• Create an atmosphere where all participants can have fun, are safe and learn.
• Maintain accurate program documentation (incident, accident and behavior reports, attendance and sign-in / sign-out sheets).
• Keep immediate supervisor informed of concerns or problems regarding program participants or facilities.
• Maintain an organized workspace and upkeep of supplies, materials, and program rooms.
• Regularly communicate with Sports and Recreation Director about lesson plans and activities.
• Communicate to caregivers to promote understanding of growth and development.
• Work cooperatively with professional staff and other departments.
• Actively participate in all training sessions, meetings and events.
• All other miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.

The Meadowlands Area YMCA is a rapidly growing and progressive Association that is looking for individuals who can positively contribute to our team. Located in Bergen County, New Jersey we are in the shadows of the Meadowlands Sports Complex (home to the NY Giants, NY Jets and the 2014 Super Bowl) and right outside of New York City. It is an exciting time in our 96 year history - our YMCA is developing 83,000 square feet building into our first full facility YMCA.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Meadowlands Area YMCA is seeking qualified individuals who will be responsible for teaching our Gymnastics classes. The Gymnastics Instructor will also be responsible for management of participants and the studio or gymnasium.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 18+ years of age
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and child abuse prevention training within 90 days of hire
• Proven experience teaching at least one specialty topic including but not limited to; Gymnastics, Tumbling, and Cheer leading. Willingness to learn additional areas in Gymnastics.
