Job summary

Wulf Recreation Center in Evergreen, CO is seeking a gymnastics instructor to teach movement, safety principles, and apparatus use in a public recreation setting. You will supervise participants, ensure safe practice, and communicate with parents and staff to maintain high-quality recreation programs.

The role involves setting up equipment, monitoring safety, administering first-aid as needed, and coordinating with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Safety training through USAG or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• CPR/AED and First-Aid Certification, or have the ability to obtain within six months of employment.
• 0-3 years experience with gymnastics and other programs as a judge or participant or other capacity that results in hands-on knowledge of the sport.
• 0-3 years experience instructing specified course level hired to teach.

Responsibilities

• Explain and demonstrate use of apparatus and equipment.
• Explain and demonstrate principles, techniques, and methods of regulating movement of body, hands, and feet to achieve proficiency.
• Observe gymnasts during practice to detect and correct mistakes.
• Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations.
• Manage classes of children by keeping attention.
• Communicate with parents, gymnasts, coordinator(s) and supervisor.
• Set up, clean up, and move equipment for proper class or party.
• Check equipment and space for proper safety.
• Report accidents and injuries that occur during class.
• Administer first-aid as necessary.
• Oversees activities and actions of program participants.
• Record attendance and progression of participants.
