Delano Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Coach for the Delano MAGA Gymnastics Team. The role focuses on assisting with practice plans, teaching basic skills, and guiding gymnasts toward peak performance in meets and competitions.

The position emphasizes collaboration with staff, ongoing education, and maintaining a respectful, confidential environment for young athletes, families, and staff. Strong communication and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Coaching gymnastics and strong knowledge of spotting techniques.
• Ability to motivate and supervise youth athletes.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid training if not current.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Experience teaching gymnastic skills and understanding safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach with practice plans, training, spotting, and instruction.
• Coach gymnasts on floor, beam, vault, and bars; supervise participants and help with routines.
• Attend practices and meets, including state events.
• Help develop gymnasts to reach full potential.
• Follow program curriculum, goals, and guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism; support other staff.
