Job summary

South St. Paul Public Schools is seeking a Gymnastics Assistant Coach to support the Athletics program at the High School.

You will instruct student participants in fundamentals, strategy and conditioning under the direction of the Athletic Director. Your duties include assisting with scheduling and transportation, maintaining equipment and facilities, enforcing safety rules, recording team statistics, and helping athletes develop character, teamwork and goal-oriented habits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge and background in gymnastics.
• Ability to teach and model character and responsible behavior.
• Positive, high energy, and committed.
• Ability to partner with parents, staff, community leaders.
• Focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Follow proper chain of command and attend required meetings.
• Maintain discipline and boost morale within the program.
• Assist head coach with scheduling and transportation to away events.
• Safeguard equipment and facilities.
• Enforce discipline procedures and contact parents when necessary.
• Provide training rules and regulations to participants.
• Inspect locker rooms for cleanliness; maintain equipment.
• Secure doors, lights, etc. when leaving.
• Keep team statistics and lettering requirements.
• Assist in planning conditioning and weight programs.
• Attend most contests when possible.
• Pursue clinics and utilize resources.
• Maintain professional conduct in presence of players/parents.
• Perform other duties as requested.
