Planet Fitness in Derby, CT is seeking a General Manager to lead club operations and drive financial results through superior member and team experiences.

The role requires a 4-year degree, strong leadership, and a focus on service quality, cleanliness, and community engagement. You will recruit, train, and oversee staff while managing revenue growth and ensuring brand standards are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience managing a team in a high-volume or fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of management experience preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and general technology.
• Experience in a multi-unit organization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Effectively recruit, lead, manage, communicate, train, and develop staff including Assistant Manager, Front Desk employees, and Fitness Trainers.
• Provide support to direct team members and peer groups to foster personal and professional growth, teamwork, and shared definitions of success.
• Ensure club issues involving employees and members are addressed in a timely and respectful manner.
• Promote a superior customer and club experience by maintaining a clean, friendly, and well-maintained environment for members and team members.
• Train all staff on Ignite Fitness & PFHQ initiatives including tours, info calls, cleanliness expectations, handling member concerns, and enrolling more member joins.
• Responsible for club revenue growth and profitability by increasing membership and EFT per member, reducing attrition, and growing retail sales.
• Lead field marketing and corporate sales efforts in the communities we serve, by attending local events and developing partnerships.
• Set, communicate, and track performance across key operational metrics to ensure high club performance.
• Monitor compliance with policies, procedures, standards, inventory, supplies, and confidentiality.
