Job summary

Crunch Fitness - JFF North America is seeking a Fitness Service Technician to inspect, maintain, repair, and install fitness equipment across multiple gym locations.

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, you will perform preventive maintenance on cardio and strength machines, troubleshoot issues, and keep detailed service records.

This role requires a high school diploma, 1–3 years in mechanical repair, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs; some travel between sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of experience in mechanical repair or facilities maintenance within the fitness industry.
• Familiarity with major commercial fitness equipment brands (Life Fitness, Technogym, Precor, Matrix, StarTrak).
• Crunch will provide additional training and certifications.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read schematics and service manuals.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work on knees or ladders as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for multi-site coverage.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on cardio, strength, and functional training equipment (e.g., treadmills, ellipticals, selectorized machines, racks).
• Respond to service requests and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions in a timely and professional manner.
• Accurately diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
• Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Ensure all tools and replacement parts are organized and stocked for efficient use.
• Coordinate with facilities teams as needed.
• Assist with the delivery, installation, and calibration of new fitness equipment.
• Uphold safety and cleanliness standards in all maintenance areas.
• Collaborate with fitness staff to report recurring issues or identify high-use equipment needing additional support.
• Recommend equipment upgrades or replacement as parts as needed.
