Job summary

Bridgeton Holdings Group in New York's Greenwich Village seeks an experienced Maintenance Engineer to uphold hotel maintenance quality and safety standards.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will work across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems, performing preventive maintenance and guest-facing service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or trade school coursework in related field.
• Experience in technology maintenance is required.
• Completion of apprenticeship with a professional maintenance technician is a plus.
• HVAC, Electricity, or Plumbing Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts.
• Ensure upkeep of fixtures and equipment per preventative maintenance schedule.
• Service equipment including testing and recording as per regulations.
• Maintain public areas, internal areas and storage areas.
• Assist other departments with engineering related items.
• Interact professionally with hotel guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Chief Engineer.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Engineers are responsible for performing general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality and safety standards are achieved. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you should possess the diverse knowledge of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, and HVAC refrigeration.

Essential Duties:

• Basic knowledge of, and experience with carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting, and HVAC systems preferred.
• Knowledge of safety management principles; federal and state OSHA regulations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more throughout the property with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects.
• Ability to walk, including climbing stairs, ladders, stand to a significant degree, kneel, reach, bend, handle machinery, lift, feel, talk, hear, and see.

Specific requirements of the role:

• Maintain and repair plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts, switches, and fuses.
• Ensure upkeep of all fixtures and equipment according to preventative maintenance schedule and record such maintenance in logbook.
• Service equipment including testing and recording as stated by State and City regulations.
• Ensure maintenance of public areas, internal areas and storage areas.
• Assist other departments with engineering related items.
• Ability to interact in a professional manner with hotel guests.
• Other duties as assigned by Chief Engineer.
