Century-Arms,-Inc.- in New York is seeking a skilled firearms assembler and inspector to provide high level customer service on firearms sold by the Company. You will troubleshoot and repair firearms, check headspace, and ensure items meet quality standards.

The role involves assembly of complex firearms, fabrication of simple tooling, participation in prototyping, and rigorous documentation of issues and tests.

Qualifications

  • Interact effectively with a variety of people.
  • General mechanical ability is required.
  • Sound problem-solving skills to facilitate solutions identified during inspection.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow directions/organize and prioritize accordingly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs firearms for internal and external customers.
  • Checks headspace on firearms and adjust as necessary.
  • Repairs stocks, aligns sights and test fires.
  • Assembles firearms of a difficult nature.
  • Fabricates simple tooling, tools and fixtures.
  • Assists in production prototyping.
  • Documents problems on customer returns as required.
  • Inspects first piece samples from vendors and document findings.
  • Progressively improves upon and maintains acceptable inspection numbers in accordance with Company standards.
  • Always stays on task with assigned duties.
  • Adheres to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company.
  • Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment directed by the Company at all times.
  • Maintains and keeps workstation and department area clean.
  • Complete all required paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as always directed by Company.
  • Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor
  • Maintain respect, courtesy, a positive attitude and professionalism towards all co-workers and the Company.
  • Other duties will be assigned, as required.

Working Conditions

Work is normally performed throughout a heated manufacturing and warehouse facility. Exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of light manufacturing, shipping and receiving, and normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.
