Job summary

Century-Arms, Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector to inspect incoming, in-process, and final parts to drawing specifications and company standards. You will inspect finished firearms from vendors and in-house, document findings, and cross-train to support quality needs.

The role requires proficiency with measurement tools, GD&T, and inspection software, with an emphasis on accuracy and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with standard measurement tools and inspection methodologies.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for inspection process issues.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and document findings for incoming, in-process and final inspection parts.
  • Identify and document mistakes or problems with inspected items.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspected items.
  • Submit reports to Quality Manager regarding quality and items inspected.
  • Use basic test equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, Keyence, Rockwell testers, surface plate).
  • Follow employment, safety policies and wear PPE as directed.
  • Keep workstation and department area clean and organized.
  • Complete required paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Report maintenance or safety issues to supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain professionalism with coworkers and company personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process and final production parts to drawing specifications. They will be responsible for inspecting finished firearms from outside vendors and in-house to company standards. They will also be responsible for cross training to help where the Quality needs are.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and document findings for incoming, In-process and final inspection parts.
  • Identifies and documents any mistakes or problems associated with the items being inspected.
  • Maintains accurate records of all items inspected.
  • Submits reports to the Quality Manager regarding quality and items inspected.
  • Utilizes basic test equipment such as calipers, Micrometers, Height Gages, CMM, Keyence, Rockwell Testers, and surface plate.
  • Always stays on task with assigned duties.
  • Adheres to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company.
  • Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as directed by the Company at all times.
  • Maintains and keeps workstation and department area clean.
  • Complete all required paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor
  • Maintain respect, courtesy, a positive attitude and professionalism towards all co-workers and the Company.
  • Other duties will be assigned, as required.
Qualifications & Knowledge Required

  • Proficient with standard measurement tools, height stands, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators and Quality Inspection methodologies.
  • Keyence IM system (preferred)
  • Understanding and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances
  • Experience in reading Engineering drawings.
  • Interact effectively with a variety of people.
  • General mechanical ability is required.
  • Possess sound problem-solving skills to help facilitate solutions to problems identified during the inspection process.
  • Proficient in using Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Able to do a full layout of dimensional features.
  • Experience with ERP system use, preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions and prioritize accordingly.
Working Conditions

Work is normally performed throughout a heated manufacturing and warehouse facility. Exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of light manufacturing, shipping and receiving, and normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.
