Job summary

Pilot Mountain Arms seeks an enthusiastic Gunsmith to repair, modify, and build various firearms. You will design, construct, and modify guns to customer specifications and safely test-fire completed work.

Responsibilities include following safety procedures, inspecting firearms, performing machining operations, and maintaining BATF records. Strong attention to detail and customer service are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Pass criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Completion of an accredited Gunsmith or Machinist training program.
  • Knowledge of gun safety and gun laws.
  • Ability to safely use gunsmith hand tools and conduct machining operations.
  • Ability to read blueprints and parts diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Follow firearms safety procedures.
  • Check in/out customer firearms.
  • Maintain accurate records as required by BATF.
  • Inspect customers’ guns and identify mechanical problems.
  • Set up and machine on lathe and CNC mill.
  • Design and construct guns per customer specs.
  • Modify factory guns per specs.
  • Repair damaged gun components and fix malfunctions.
  • Replace barrels to change caliber or customize rifles.
