We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Guidewire Architect Director to lead our team of architects and oversee the architecture for a major PolicyCenter implementation project. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Guidewire PolicyCenter and have a proven track record of managing and mentoring a team of architects.
Responsibilities:
Lead , mentor, and manage a team of 3-5 architects, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful delivery of architectural solutions.
Oversee the architecture for a major PolicyCenter implementation project, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements. Oversee the architecture for continued improvements to existing BillingCenter and ClaimCenter implementation.
Drive technical decision-making on configuration strategies, balancing out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities and pre-built accelerators with enterprise-level non-functional requirements (NFRs) and service architecture considerations.
Develop data migration strategies and oversee their execution
Create and maintain technical documentation for integrations and data flows
Conduct architectural reviews of team members and Implementation Partners and provide recommendations for improvements and optimizations.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in Guidewire technology, incorporating relevant innovations into the architectural strategy.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the architecture team.
Core Technical Requirements:
Integration Architecture:
Expert knowledge of P olicyCenter integration patterns and APIs in Guidewire Cloud
Experience designing and implementing integrations between PolicyCenter . Some examples :
Portal & External APIs, ideally utilizing Jutro
Agency management systems
Document production and d ocument management systems
Built by Guidewire integrations
Third-party data providers
Proficiency in implementing messaging patterns (synchronous/asynchronous) and error handling strategies
PolicyCenter Configuration Excellence:
Current PolicyCenter certification with proven ability to maximize OOTB functionality
Experience in evaluating customization requests against OOTB capabilities
Expertise in configuring PolicyCenter product models, rules, and workflows
Track record of maintaining upgrade compatibility through disciplined configuration approaches
Strong background in TypeList extensions and PCF modifications without core changes
Data Architecture & Impact Analysis:
Deep understanding of PolicyCenter's data model and its relationships
Experience in impact analysis for data model changes across the enterprise
Expertise in designing and implementing custom fields and entities
Ability to evaluate downstream effects of data changes
Understanding of using CDA for data pipeline
Data Migration & Performance:
Experience leading large-scale policy data migrations
Proven track record in:
Establishing migration KPIs and success metrics
Setting and achieving performance NFRs
Designing efficient data conversion strategies
Managing renewal conversion processes
BillingCenter & ClaimCenter Integration Knowledge (Preferred):
Understanding of PolicyCenter-BillingCenter integration patterns
Experience with billing plan configuration and payment integration
Knowledge of commission calculation and agency bill processes
Familiarity with payment allocation and general ledger integration
Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: 8-12 years of IT experience.
Guidewire certification is preferred.
6+ years of hands-on experience with Guidewire products, particularly Guidewire PolicyCenter.
Proven experience leading development teams and implementing Guidewire products.
Strong background in unit testing and adhering to best practices.
Experience with Guidewire cloud implementations is a plus.
Experience in both configuration and integration is advantageous.
Experience providing solution architecture oversight with third-parties
