GUIDE I, HISTORICAL MONUMENT – CAPITAL DISTRICT / MUSEUMS / OLD SACRAMENTO STATE HISTORIC PARK
This position will work under the direction of the Guide II , Historical Monument (Supervisor.)The reporting location for this position is Old Sacramento State Historic Park (SHP)in Sacramento, CA.
The Guide I, Historical Monument, is a key participant in the Museum’s daily visitor services operations and in developing and delivering its interpretive offerings to general visitors and specialized audiences such as school groups. The Guide I serves as a visitor services shift lead, performs guided tours and participates in program delivery, and works collaboratively with management, supervisors, Park Aides, and other staff, including docents, to monitor the guest experience to ensure quality and consistency. The Guide I must be able to apply professional knowledge to practical problems, and establish and maintain cooperative relationships with staff, volunteers, and members of the public.
Occasional travel may be required. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
