Job summary

Coatesville Area School District is seeking a Guidance Counselor to support King’s Highway Elementary School. This full-time, permanent position includes managing student records, counseling individuals and small groups, and coordinating referrals to special programs within the district.

The role requires a Master’s degree and PA PK-12 Counselor certification, with a focus on collaboration with teachers, families, and students to help diverse learners achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Registrars, schedules, and orients new students to school.
• Maintains student records and protects confidentiality.

• Initiates and processes referrals to appropriate programs and services.
• Participates in coordination of the buildings standardized testing program.
• Consults and conferences with parents/guardians, staff, and others to enhance work with students.
• Participates in educational team meetings.
• Provides information about tutors, summer school, and alternative educational programs.
• Participates in the student support system of the district.
• Assists students evaluate career interests and choices.
• Assists in preparing referrals for multidisciplinary evaluations.
