Description

Position Summary: The Guest Solutions Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, employees, guests, and property. This role involves monitoring surveillance systems, patrolling the area, enforcing safety protocols, responding to emergencies, and providing excellent customer service. Security Officers work to prevent incidents, identify security risks, and act quickly in case of emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrolling and Surveillance:
  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both inside and outside, to ensure the security and safety of all areas.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems to detect any unusual activity or potential security breaches.
  • Report any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or violations of company policies to management immediately.
  • Emergency Response:
  • Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and calls for assistance, including medical emergencies, fires, or security incidents.
  • Assist in evacuations during emergencies and provide crowd control when necessary.
  • Provide first aid and CPR when required, and coordinate with emergency services if needed.
  • Access Control and Screening:
  • Monitor access points to the facility, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed entry.
  • Check IDs, passes, or badges of visitors, employees, and contractors, ensuring proper security procedures are followed.
  • Maintain and monitor logbooks for access control and security incidents.
  • Incident Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all incidents, accidents, or security breaches, including written reports and incident logs.
  • Investigate and document any security violations or disturbances, following company procedures and reporting findings to management.
  • Prepare reports of daily activities, including patrolling, incidents, or any other noteworthy observations.
  • Customer Service:
  • Greet and assist employees, guests, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide information about building policies, directions, or other relevant information.
  • Address and resolve any concerns or complaints from employees or visitors in a calm and professional manner.
  • Enforcement of Rules and Regulations:
  • Enforce company policies, building rules, and safety procedures to maintain order and prevent security breaches.
  • Handle disturbances, altercations, or violations of rules promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to security and safety.
  • Collaboration with Law Enforcement:
  • Work closely with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary to address serious incidents or criminal activity.
  • Report any criminal activity, suspicious behavior, or security threats to appropriate authorities.
  • Security Equipment Maintenance:
  • Ensure that all security equipment, alarms, and access control systems, are in working order.
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment to management or the relevant department for repair.
Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Additional security or law enforcement training or certification may be required.
Experience
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service (preferred).
  • Experience in handling emergencies, customer service, and basic security protocols.
Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, guests, and law enforcement.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed during stressful or emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and first aid.
  • Ability to use security equipment such as surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems.

Certifications
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (preferred).

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol the premises for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry items, such as equipment or injured individuals, when necessary up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to respond quickly in emergencies, including running or assisting with evacuations.
Work Environment
  • The role may require working evenings, weekends, holidays, or overnight shifts depending on the security needs of the site.
