Holden Forests & Gardens is hiring a casual Guest Services Representative in Cleveland. You will welcome guests, sell admissions, promote memberships, and work in the retail store, contributing to a positive team atmosphere.

The role requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, some evenings, and holidays. Prior retail and cash handling experience is preferred, with a focus on friendly, informative guest interactions and safety.

The Guest Services Representative will facilitate an exceptional guest experience by offering great customer service while educating guests, selling admission, promoting membership, and working in the retail store and contributing to a positive team atmosphere at Cleveland Botanical Garden. Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends, some evenings, and some holidays

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the Guest Services Representative - Casual include, but are not limited to:

• Support Holden Forests & Gardens' mission, vision, values, and core commitment
• Actively welcome guests and members upon arrival to provide an orientation of the property, programs and events that support the mission and success of Holden Forests & Gardens
• Provide friendly, clear, and courteous customer service to encourage return visitation
• Manage customer concerns, communicate effectively, provide prompt follow-up and relay information as needed to Guest Services Lead and Manager
• Process sales transactions for admission, membership, programs and merchandise quickly and accurately using a point-of-sale system, Altru
• Complete register opening /closing procedures
• Assist with maintaining adequate stock levels of merchandise and supplies on store floor and stockroom
• Contribute positively to a team of seasonal guest services staff, volunteers, and others
• Regularly assist with event set-up, support special events and programs
• Answer guest telephone calls and respond accordingly
• Maintain the appearance, cleanliness and safety of workspaces and facilities
• Complete performance evaluations and set position goals with supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Demonstrate a passion for people and nature
• Retail and cash handling experience
• Experience with customer service in a similar setting desired
• Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays
• Ability to understand basic instructions Must enjoy working with the public, families and children
• Effective and appropriate verbal and written communication
• Ability to work within a team and be self-motivated when working individually
• Ability to take initiative and problem-solve

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Stand and/or sit for extended periods of time
• Hand and arm dexterity
• Ascend and descend office stairs
• Standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, sitting, grabbing, and lifting
• Carrying up to 30 lbs. regularly
• Work independently as well as effectively with others
