Classification: Part‑time/Non‑exempt/Seasonal

Overview

The Astros are looking to add part‑time Guest Services Team members to our roster. As a member of the Guest Services Team, you will be an essential part of the game experience and help build positive Astros memories that last a lifetime. You will work in several areas of the ballpark: ushering, ticket scanning, assisting guests with disabilities, mobility issues, concourse customer service, and attending to stairs, ramps, escalators, and elevators. As a frontline representative of the Astros, you will provide directions and information, keep fans safe while maintaining a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Minimum Commitment
  • All team members will be required to work at least 300 hours during Astros regular season home games.
  • Weekend availability is an expectation for this role and a factor in determining invitations to return for the following season.
  • Weekday games (7:10 p.m. start) clock‑in time is 4:30 p.m.; the latest arrival is 5:30 p.m. No late clock‑ins for Saturday/Sunday games.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Deliver a positive, memorable experience for all fans.
  • Provide a safe environment for fans.
  • Be courteous and patient with all guests.
  • Prior to gates opening, assess designated section for patrons; wipe down seats, look for hazards, and report issues.
  • When gates open, welcome fans with a smile and helpful attitude.
  • Operate ticket scanners to verify valid tickets.
  • Review tickets and give accurate directions to seats.
  • Address questions, problems, or concerns of fans.
  • Monitor gates and access points to prevent entry without a ticket or wristband.
  • Remain alert to potential hazards such as foul balls and report incidents.
  • Monitor assigned area for issues and opportunities to make lasting memories.
  • Stay up to date on policies and procedures to ensure safety and security.
  • Have a clear understanding of ballpark layout to guide guests to seating, restrooms, concessions, novelty shops, and other services.
  • Provide assistance and clear directions during emergency situations.
Other Duties
  • Safely operate and monitor escalators and elevators to ensure guest safety.
  • Assist with wheelchair requests by coordinating with the Security Operations Center and First Aid team.
Education and Experience

Required

  • Love working with and helping people.

  • Personable, enthusiastic, engaging, and energetic in small and large groups.
  • Comfortable working with diverse groups—families, children, corporations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while handling difficult situations.
  • Flexibility to work non‑traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Quick thinker; handle unexpected situations; safety is priority.
  • Local Houston resident.
  • Availability to work most home games; mandatory weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays).

Preferred

  • Knowledge about the Houston Astros.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or Japanese is a plus.
  • Experience with ticketing apps is a plus.
Work Environment

The noise level is moderate but may be loud during events. Employees must work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach. Requires close and focused vision. Must walk long distances and stand 4–5 hours without a break. Ability to lift up to 25 lb on occasion.

Position Type and Hours

Part‑time position. Must have availability to work most home games; weekends are mandatory (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays).

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.
