Position Purpose and Summary

The Guest Services Representative ("GSR") position demonstrates and promotes a strong commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests. Responsibilities include assisting guests, answering phones, checking guests in and out, collecting payments, and completing all front office paperwork following company guidelines. The GSR also ensures adherence to safety and security procedures for all associates and guests.

Major / Key Job Duties

  • Provide excellent guest experience with 100% commitment.
  • Respond to guest requests diligently.
  • Resolve guest issues through the Make it Right process, embracing ESA's service culture.
  • Process reservations, check-ins, payments, and check-outs according to guidelines.
  • Manage collection efforts for in-house balances and maintain cash, credit, and ledger accounts.
  • Set up and take down breakfast displays timely.
  • Maintain organized and clean work and common areas.
  • Promote ESA to inquiries and convert them into reservations.
  • Gather guest information, identify sales opportunities, and follow up on leads.
  • Conduct property tours to ensure standards are met.
  • Assist guests with reasonable accommodations and report safety/security issues promptly.

Other Duties

  • Maintain overall hotel cleanliness and assist with housekeeping and laundry tasks as needed.
  • Engage in cross-training across hotel departments.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Compensation

Pay ranges vary by state, e.g., California: $16.50 - $23.00; Colorado: $16.00 - $19.00; Illinois: $16.00 - $19.00; Minnesota: $16.00 - $19.00; New Jersey: $16.00 - $23.22; Washington: $16.66 - $21.10; NY Whitestone: $19.17 - $20.52.

Note: Compensation depends on role, experience, and location, and complies with minimum wage laws.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

  • Proficient in English communication.
  • Ability to operate property management systems and perform shift reports and audits.
  • Understand safety and operational manuals.
  • Complete routine reports and correspondence.
  • Perform basic math operations.
  • Exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills in guest issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, or 1-3 months related experience, or equivalent.
