Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation is seeking a part-time Host/Cashier to deliver outstanding guest service in our casino properties. You will greet guests, seat them promptly, handle sales transactions, and provide accurate information about our services and facilities.

As a frontline team member, you will maintain friendly interactions, manage wait lists, handle cash, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere while adhering to company standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical skills.
• Six months of on-the-job training or equivalent cashier/host experience.
• Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and gaming license within assigned state of employment and other jurisdictions
• Must successfully pass background check
• Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
• Must be 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Actively build and retain guest relations and mentor other team members while delivering superior guest service.
• Greet guests, arrange seating, and monitor room atmosphere.
• Provide information on Boyd Gaming services and facilities to guests.
• Quote accurate waiting times and manage waiting lists or reservations.
• Act as liaison between service staff and casino hosts to obtain camps for guests.
• Greet guests and answer inquiries in front-of-house areas, completing sales transactions.
• Answer telephones and handle guest inquiries in person or by telephone.
• Check supplies and ensure adequate stock levels.
• Ensure security and accuracy of assigned cash handling and coverages/shortages.
• Assist with room functions by cleaning and resetting tables, menus, folding napkins, and handing out comment cards.
• Operate a cash register and distinguish currency denominations to make correct change.
• Read ticket totals, total credit vouchers and log checks.
• Restock needed materials and retrieve dropped items.
• Communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
• Move around all work areas efficiently.
• Work environment may include varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke.
