Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in client services, social work or customer service.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays.
• Experience in a non-profit or community-based social service agency is preferred.
• Proficiency in a second language (Spanish, Mandarin, Tagalog, Cantonese) is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and ensure they are welcomed with dignity and respect.
• Provide information and referrals to Dining Room guests and update service handouts.
• Maintain a guest bulletin board and related information for guests.
• Connect guests with SAF services such as Clinic, Free Clothing Program, Social Work Center, and Chaplain services.
• Assist guests with special needs and work across cultures.
• Complete reports and paperwork neatly, legibly, and thoroughly.
• Enter data electronically and retrieve information from databases as required.
• Support safety and compliance procedures and participate in trainings.
