Job summary

The National Health Foundation (NHF) in Arleta, CA is seeking a dedicated Guest Service Associate to join our recuperative care program. You will welcome guests, conduct orientation on program guidelines, and assist with on-site appointments, bed availability, and daily shift notes.

This role requires multitasking, clear communication, and a respectful approach with guests and staff. A background check, TB test, and fingerprint live scan are required; bilingual Spanish skills are preferred; BLS

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to work a schedule of five (5) eight (8) hour shifts.
  • Current BLS certification preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, guests, and visitors.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and security of the recuperative care facility; conduct daily inspections and constant room checks.
  • Perform guest intake responsibilities, greet guests, and provide detailed orientation of program guidelines.
  • Create, lead, and implement engagement activities with guests; build rapport and trust through constant engagement.
  • Assist nursing, social services, and external partners with guest appointments on-site or check-ins.
  • Assist management in maintaining accurate bed availability and documentation.
  • Assist lead staff or program management with supplies inventory checks/logs.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping, including daily shift notes, incident reports, and emergency action plan drills.
  • Respond to and provide positive intervention for guest concerns.
  • Attend meetings and training aligned with the role, including shift hand-offs and trainings such as BLS, crisis prevention, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and DEI.
  • Perform laundry, boutique, and mealtime duties; when necessary, provide environmental site associate support for housekeeping services.
  • Adapt to schedule changes and work additional shifts as needed, in compliance with labor laws.
  • Model a positive professional image and adhere to the organization dress code.
  • Perform additional assignments as required by the facility, in addition to primary responsibilities.
  • Always follow NHF policies and procedures.

Work Hours

11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with multiple daytime shifts available.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Successful completion of background check, live scan, and TB test.
  • Minimum 2 years caregiver experience in a healthcare or recuperative care environment (preferred).
  • TB test required.
  • Fingerprint live scan/background required.

Physical Requirements

The duties require standing and walking 90% of the time. The employee will frequently bend, stoop, squat, reach above the shoulders, twist, and turn, kneel, and push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds. Conversational speech is necessary for effective verbal communication. Noise levels may be high in some client care areas.
