Job summary

Missouri Botanical Garden is seeking an experienced Visitor Services Attendant for the Butterfly House. You will welcome guests, sell admissions, handle cash/credit transactions, and provide information on Garden sites, events, and classes.

You will also assist with ticketing issues, upsell cafe/gift shop items, and maintain a clean work area. Expect to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' visitor/customer service experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in retail or related environment; cash handling and credit card transactions required.
• Ability to provide guest service within a fast-paced mission-based public attraction.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the public and colleagues.
• Demonstrates professionalism; able to multi-task with minimal supervision.
• Scheduling flexibility including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Adherence to all health and safety guidelines; vaccination status may be required.
• Punctual, reliable, self-starter with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes, admits, and directs guests ensuring a positive visitor experience.
• Sells admission tickets and handles cash/credit card transactions.
• Provides information about Garden sites, events, and classes in person and by phone.
• Processes refunds and exchanges; maintains ticketing accuracy.
• Supports cafe and gift shop upsell opportunities at the admissions desk.
• Coordinates information with staff and communicates daily events.
• Maintains clean, safe work area and adheres to Garden policies.
