Job summary

Nothing Bundt Cakes in Clive, IA is seeking a Guest Services Representative to create a welcoming atmosphere and guide guests in selecting and ordering cakes for celebrations.

You will learn NbC Sweet Steps of Service, upsell related merchandise, and help maintain a clean, inviting bakery environment while supporting event planning and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Prompts guests to greet walk-in and phone guests with warmth to determine interests and needs.
• Maintains product knowledge to educate guests on cake distinctions, sizes, flavors, pricing, and promotions.
• Suggests additional merchandise to complete celebrations (balloons, candles, cards).
• Processes guest orders accurately using the point-of-sale system and invites guests to join Email Club for promotions.
• Keeps bakery clean and organized, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning surfaces.
• Replenishes merchandise and cake display to maintain strong visuals.
• Assists the Crafter in cake decorations and packaging supplies as needed.
• Helps open/close bakery and close registers.
• Learns to build marketing email lists for fundraiser opportunities.

Accountabilities/Duties

• Promptly greets walk-in and phone guests with genuine warmth and helpful enthusiasm to determine interests and needs, and follows NbC Sweet Steps of Service to create a superior guest experience.
• Maintains strong product knowledge to educate guests on NbC cake distinction, size and flavor profile options, pricing, special promotions, and complimentary retail merchandise.
• Suggests additional merchandise, including balloons, candles, and cards, to complete a unique celebration.
• Processes guest orders efficiently and accurately utilizing the point-of-sale system and invite guests to join NbC Email Club to benefit from special promotions and remain connected.
• Upholds a clean and organized bakery presentation, which may include routine sweeping/mopping of the floor, and dusting/cleaning of countertops, windows, and other surfaces.
• Replenishes retail merchandise and cake display case to ensure a strong visual presentation.
• Assists the Crafter in preparing cake decorations and packaging supplies as needed.
• Help open and close bakery including closing down registers.
• Learn to help build marketing email lists to help find potential fundraiser avenues.
