Job summary

Stinker Stores is hiring a Guest Service Specialist in Grand Junction, CO. You will be the friendly face greeting guests, helping with purchases, and keeping the store welcoming and organized.

The role requires a positive attitude, ability to handle a fast-paced environment, and a willingness to work a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Training and growth opportunities are provided, with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Previous customer service, retail, or food service experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in cooler/freezer environments as low as 0°F.
• Willingness to learn and deliver strong guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Welcome every guest with friendly, helpful service.
• Assist guests with purchases, answer questions, and provide product recommendations.
• Process cash, credit, and other payment transactions accurately.
• Prepare fresh food and beverages following safety standards.
• Stock merchandise, rotate products, and maintain displays.
• Maintain pricing accuracy and product availability.
• Keep sales floor, restrooms, and service areas clean and inviting.
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns promptly.
• Work as part of a team to ensure smooth store operations.

About Stinker

Founded in 1936, Stinker is a family‑owned convenience retailer serving communities throughout Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming.

We got our name in a fight. In 1936, a 20-year-old named Farris Lind opened a service station in Twin Falls and started selling gasoline for less than the major oil companies thought he should. They didn’t take it well. When one of them told a newspaper that Farris Lind was a real stinker, he took it as a compliment, put the word on his stations, and drew a skunk wearing red boxing gloves, Polecat Pete.

The gloves came first, and they were never a joke. Farris spent his career punching above his weight on behalf of the guest, and a small Idaho company that refused to be pushed around had to be willing to fight for what it believed in. Ninety years later, that spirit is still part of who we are. We fight for our employees. We fight for our guests.
